Tax notices and appeals

Received a notice from the income tax or GST department? We read it, explain plainly what is being asked and by when, and prepare a reply backed by your records. Nothing is filed until you approve it.

Notices we handle

  • Income tax intimations and mismatch notices (AIS, Form 26AS)
  • Defective return notices
  • Scrutiny and faceless assessment notices
  • Reassessment notices for earlier years
  • Demand, refund adjustment and rectification matters
  • GST notices: return mismatch, scrutiny and show cause
  • TDS default and short-deduction notices
  • Appeals against orders: grounds, statement of facts and written submissions

Documents needed

If something is missing, we tell you exactly what to get.

  • A copy of the notice or order, or the portal login so we can download it
  • The return and computation for the year in question
  • Bank statements for that year
  • Invoices, books or other records related to what the notice asks about
  • Any earlier replies or orders for the same matter
How it works

From documents to filing

  1. Share the notice

Send a photo or PDF on WhatsApp or email. We note the deadline straight away.

  2. We explain it

You get a plain summary of what the department is asking, what it may lead to and what documents are needed.

  3. We draft the reply

The reply is prepared from your records, with supporting documents attached, and shared for your approval.

  4. We file and follow up

The reply is filed on the portal, and we track the matter until it is closed or an order is passed.

Questions

Common questions

The deadline is very close. What should I do?

Contact us the same day. Where more time is genuinely needed, an adjournment can usually be requested on the portal with reasons, but it is not guaranteed, so it is best to start early.

Do I need to go to the tax office?

Usually not. Most income tax proceedings, including assessments, are now conducted online, and replies are filed on the portal.

What if the order goes against me?

An appeal can be filed within the time allowed. We prepare the grounds of appeal, statement of facts and written submissions. Where a hearing needs a representative with a particular qualification, we tell you in advance and coordinate with one.

Should I ignore an intimation if I think it is wrong?

No. An unanswered intimation or notice can turn into a demand. Even when the department is wrong, a reply or rectification request is needed to close it.
